Minimum Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in property maintenance, construction, and/or facility repairs; can substitute for years of education or a bachelor's degree from a college or university with a major in building construction, engineering, and/or business. Minimum qualifications high school diploma or GED. Knowledge of or aptitude to learn carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates with HVAC experience. Experience must be demonstrated on the candidates profile.

Requirements:

Employment in this position requires successfully completion a Level 1 and Level 2 background check at no cost to the candidate prior to employment.

Office hours are from 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Not eligible for Telework. Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment and other miscellaneous items as directed. This includes performing preventative maintenance on all buildings and related equipment. Perform minor repairs on all plumbing, electrical and communication equipment. Perform repair/alterations of building woodwork.

Prepare and paint interior and exterior of buildings and equipment and other miscellaneous item as directed.

Perform by understanding/following all safety related rules to include OSHA, NFPA, FWRI, and complete the OSHA 10 training.

Perform/assist in hurricane preparedness program.

Perform setup and take down for events.

Assist with HVAC maintenance and operations.

Access the facility's CMMS (work order system) to prepare and close out work orders.

Complete assigned inspections and create additional work orders as needed.

Install, maintain, and repair valves, faucets, traps, sinks, water closets and urinals.

Perform general carpentry work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, doors, and windows.

Repair defective components in lighting fixtures, replace defective electrical switches and receptacles.

Relocate furniture and equipment from building to building as required.

Coordinate maintenance and repair work performed by outside vendors on a one-time and ongoing basis.

Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Skilled in safely using and maintaining standard hand and power tools for maintenance and repair, including chainsaws and other landscaping equipment.

Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve building functions and issues.

Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate building maintenance and repair.

Read and interpret blueprints, take accurate measurements, perform basic math.

Ability to work with other government regulatory agencies for building code, safety, and security compliance.

Ability to assist with maintenance, construction, and repair work and help manage outside vendors.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff/co-workers verbally and in writing.

Valid driver's license.

Good physical condition and ability to do landscape work, attic work, and other manual labor. Ability to easily lift 40 pounds.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft office software, especially Outlook and ability to use CMMS to complete work orders.

Ability to use and follow State's purchasing policies and procedures. Complete the course for gaining a State PCard and successfully complete the course of Advance Accountability.
