JOB SUMMARY
Systems Analysts are responsible for analyzing, researching, designing, implementing, and maintaining technical solutions for users of student data. In this role, the Systems Analyst will meet with stakeholders to determine their requirements and develop a system that ensures data integrity. At times, the solutions will require collaboration with other IT teams, and this position will act as a liaison between these groups and the stakeholders.
Required Daily/After-Hours Communication
The person in this position must have access to wireless communication device for the ability to be reached during and/or after normal work hours to provide support, answer questions and/or provide input for required decisions on short notice as is required of a manager, application owner or support person.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data and systems-driven functions:
Understands the data flow between systems, its usage, and manipulation to maintain integrity
Meet with stakeholders to determine their requirements, and develop a solution based on their needs
Research and leverage the delivered functionality provided by the software whenever possible
Manage, design, develop, test, validate, and maintain custom data manipulation scripts
Assist partners with the setup of financial aid and academic year configuration
Create automation scripts to identify student populations and send mass emails to them
Write queries to complete data validation based on projects and stakeholder needs
Collaborate with other IT teams such as CRM, ERP, and Institutional Data, Analytics, and Reporting
Administrative and Internal Procedures
Ability to work on multiple streams of work simultaneously
Update TDX and Project Milestone tickets with notes and communicate with customers
Stay current with updates from our software vendors through their documentation and webinars
Author and maintain Knowledge Base articles for the larger St. Thomas community
Training documentation for other Systems Analysis and other members of Student Data and Registrar
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
Three years of professional-level experience providing technical and systems design and development
Demonstrated technical skill in designing and developing tools in student information systems and databases, including ERP
Experience with database design and data manipulation
Experience identifying and troubleshooting information integrity issues
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant field
Experience working with at least two of the following programs: Ellucian Banner, Salesforce, Appworx, and SQL or similar tools for managing data and documents, automation, and reporting
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skill have been acquired may be substituted.
