University of St. Thomas Research Administrator Intern in St. Paul, Minnesota
OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: Research Administrator Intern
PAY RATE: $16/hr
HOURS:Flexible hours, up to 20 hours/week
The field of Research Administration has steadily grown due to the increase in grant-funded research across universities in the United States, yet there are few pr ograms that specifically prepare students for careers in this field. As part of a new award from the National Science Foundation , we are launching a paid Research Administrator Internship program. Students participating in the program will receive training on university systems and procedures, and they will support faculty researchers in various project administration tasks (e.g., managing project payroll, purchasing supplies, ordering equipment, assimilating financial data). They will also participate in monthly group activities designed to gain understanding of the breadth of the field of Research Administration , and they will have opportunities to attend and co-present at national Research Administration conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills from a wide range of disciplines ( e.g. STEM fields, business, communication ) are applicable to Research Administration . Applicants must :
be undergraduate student in good academic standing
be detail-oriented, hardworking and responsible
have excellent professional communication skills
have an interest in the research enterprise
ELIGIBILITYTo be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at theundergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
