This position under the direction of the Agency Facilities Program Manager performs a variety of administrative program management functions for the Agency. Key programs that this position assists with are Physical Plant improvements for all of Minnesota’s Veterans Homes and Cemeteries. The Physical Plant improvements involve assisting each location with project planning, resource management, and budget forecasting for projects and resources, Agency wide program implementation, and coordination of Agency construction activities with staff at each location and the Agency Facilities Program Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience in program management, which includes at least two of the following areas:

  • Preparing annual and capital improvements budgets

  • Funding sources/appropriations related to construction projects

  • Construction plans and blueprints sufficient to interpret, modify and construct buildings and structure

  • Management of construction projects with a budget of more than $50,000

AND

  • Experience as a supervisor, team lead, lead worker, or project lead

  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel and project management software (such as Microsoft Project)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal Project Management Training or Certificate

  • Construction management experience within a Healthcare facility

  • Experience with State and Federal funding sources for State Home Construction Grants

  • Experience with State work order system/ARCHIBUS

  • Experience with Facility Condition Audits and Site Condition Audits

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Business, Engineering, or closely related field

  • Experience within a Union environment
