This position will be part of the Enterprise Services team, which delivers a full suite of services to state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions, and many central services to local government partners.

We're looking for a Power Platform Administrator to manage and support the Microsoft Power Platform and related tools for various agencies. In this role, you'll handle system maintenance, provide daily support, and work on projects involving the Power Platform, including Dataverses, add-ins, connectors, and third-party apps.

Key responsibilities :

  • Manage break/fix incidents and workorders through IT Service Management (ITSM), ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and systems are restored to full functionality.

  • Support and administer PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI services and Dynamics 365.

  • Assist new agencies/customers in getting started.

  • Support multiple environments, connectors, configurations, integrations, and deployments.

  • Collaborate with the MNIT Power Platform team, Microsoft experts, MNIT and Agency staff on projects and strategy.

  • Participate in assigned projects.

You'll work closely with architects, developers, administrators, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of Power Platform and Dynamics 365 services.

This vacancy is being posted at the Information Technology Specialist 3 and Information Technology Specialist 3 levels. Only one (1) vacancy will be filled, and the classification will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications.

This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:

  • Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.

  • Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.

Information Technology Special 3 level:

This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of professional IT experience that includes:

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Power Platform Products.

  • Experience supporting Dynamics 365.

  • Experience supporting Microsoft PowerApps (Canvas and/or Model-Driven).

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Power Automate Flows.

  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Information Technology Special 4 level:

This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of professional IT experience that includes:

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Power Platform Products.

  • Experience supporting Dynamics 365.

  • Experience supporting Microsoft PowerApps (Canvas and/or Model-Driven).

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Power Automate Flows.

  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying and extending the Microsoft Center of Excellence Starter Kit.

  • Experience creating Microsoft Power BI Reports and Dashboards.

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Power Pages.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dataverse.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform Data Loss Prevention Policies.
