The Plant Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and managing a manufacturing value stream of approximately $30M or more in sales to achieve operating goals and objectives consistent with plant and division objectives. The Plant Manager oversees the ongoing operations of all departments and executes the business plan from order to delivery inclusive of procurement of raw materials, scheduling, manufacturing, shipment, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Plant Manager’s responsibilities include managing all technical issues including capital and expense projects, preventative maintenance, building maintenance, EHS compliance, quality, and food safety of manufactured products, while ensuring compliance with Lean and Six Sigma efforts.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and direction to all plant personnel.
Full P&L ownership.
Directs and organizes all plant departments to ensure adequate supply of high-quality and food-safe products, implements quality manufacturing processes and control programs to meet or exceed customer specifications.
Ensures a safe environment for all employees and visitors by developing and implementing a comprehensive safety and emergency response program, effective training of all employees, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Implements annual operating plans and ensures timely resolution of deviations from plans to meet the financial objectives of the plant.
Responsible for developing effective plant operations, optimizes production schedules, continually improves production efficiencies, scrap rates, product quality, and food safety throughout the operation, and supports Lean and Six Sigma projects.
Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
Directly involved in responsibilities/actions related to Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs.
Establish group and individual accountabilities through annual goal planning and performance reviews.
Drive and implement high-performance management practices, including Lean Sigma, daily management processes, and other related programs
Contributes to the overall growth and development of the company through effective communications with various teams and technical groups and provides manufacturing expertise for the successful development of new products and processes.
Partner with HR function to hire, train, and evaluate team members.
Assess performance and take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Ensure the value stream assets are appropriately maintained through planning and implementation of maintenance programs and procedures, including preventative maintenance and reliability programs.
Promotes positive employee relations inside and outside the plant by ensuring consistent application of company policies, and provides leadership to managers and supervisors.

Position Specifications:
Ability to build high-performing and collaborative teams.
Technical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate vision/mission.
Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to motivate people.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to efficiently produce reports required, strong presentation skills and/or data analytics a plus.
Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
Ability and desire to relocate within 2-3 years is preferred for this position - we love to promote from within!
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, MBA preferred.
5 - 7 years of operational management experience in the packaging industry.
Proven leadership ability in manufacturing.
Strong business acumen and operations–based financial analysis skills.
Pay Range: $136,185.00 - $181,545.00
