Regions Hospital Nurse Clinician, Neurointerventional Surgery in St. Paul, Minnesota
Regions Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to join or Neurointerventional team in a full time position. The Neurointerventional Surgery Nurse Clinician (NISNC) is a key component of the Neurointerventional Surgery Program and provides care to patients that encounter care through the Neuroscience Center, Regions Hospital, and Methodist Hospital. In addition, the NISNC is responsible for the clinical case management and care coordination of the patient. Safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and caring way to both inpatients and outpatients undergoing a wide variety of image-guided vascular, neurovascular, and body/organ procedures. They will integrate knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of the patient. The NISNC will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality-nursing care in a patient and family centered care environment according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the organization. The NISNC applies knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments and interventions. Provides consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs, unique to the patient. The NISNC will perform pre-procedural calls for elective cases (found on NIR schedules) covering pre-procedure medication review, patient instructions and education, and reminders prior to scheduled procedures. Works with Regions IR Scheduling and Methodist Cath Lab Scheduling to get cases scheduled appropriately. Reviews incoming referrals and future procedure orders for long-term follow up care. The NISNC will be the clinical support for the Neuroscience Center clinic RNs for neurointerventional surgery and will be responsible for the NIR medication in-basket management. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree/current enrollment in baccalaureate program. Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Two years clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting to preferably include ICU and or interventional radiology experience. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota Current BLS certification Preferred Qualifications: Prefer 1-2 years' experience in the neurointerventional surgery or interventional radiology in hospital environment.
