The HR Generalist will be responsible for acting as a trusted advisor to employees in areas such as employee relations; staffing; and training & development. In addition, the HR Generalist will support our safety program and be a guardian of our culture, which enables great teams.
Duties
Develop & coordinate a cost-effective and timely recruiting program to include sourcing, screening and hiring non-exempt employees. Program must be aligned with business objectives using effective and innovative recruitment sources that ensures we attract a diverse pool of candidates
Partner with leaders to provide employee training, including new hire orientation
Manage all documentation processes related to employee files, safety, talent acquisition, and engagement. Maintain employee data in HRIS ensuring 100% data integrity
Execute payroll administration & partner with Finance team to ensure compliance
Provide proactive employee relations to first-line supervisors in PRT& MyTana. Coach team members on conflict resolution, disciplinary steps, setting objectives, performance management, and effective team leading skills.
Coordinate and manage benefits plans; annual benefits open enrollment, and issue resolution.
Develop, implement and maintain required regulatory reporting; AAP, EEO, VETS, OSHA, etc.
Communicate to management team, highlighting HR metrics and their impact on the business
Ensure organizational compliance with labor laws including but not limited to DOL and EEOC
Partner with employees and leaders to communicate policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations as needed
Manage and maintain all worker’s comp, FMLA, and disability claims
Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs and events
Complete other projects & assignments as required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or equivalent experience required.
1-3 years of HR experience minimum
Experience with HRIS (Workday preferred)
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills with customer service orientation
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to and experience with working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Ability to prioritize tasks and remaining flexible
Ability to take initiative and work autonomously, while remaining aligned to business priorities
Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise good judgment
Possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills; and an entrepreneurial mindset
Employee relations/union relations experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
