The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Grants Specialist position within the Morrison Family College of Health.
This position is a grant-funded, benefits-eligible position. We anticipate this position to have funding through June 2026, with hope to extend beyond depending on additional funding.

Salary Range: $26.06 to $33.56
The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
JOB SUMMARY
The part-time position is responsible for project management and administrative support on grant-funded projects awarded to the Morrison Family College of Health. The position will work in collaboration with faculty or staff Principal Investigators (PIs) to ensure grants are implemented as proposed in approved workplans and budgets. The position will also be responsible for developing grant management processes and practices inside the college of health and align with other university offices. Key responsibilities of the position include supporting the launch and implementation of grants, coordinating with key University departments, drafting grant reports, and developing systems to collect and manage program data. This is a grant-funded position supported through June 2026 with the potential to continue as additional grants are secured.
This position requires strong organization and project management skills, a highly collaborative workstyle, the ability to quickly identify and address challenges, and experience administering grants or leading grant-funded initiatives. The position will report to the Director of Health Equity Program Development. The position will office primarily on the St. Paul campus of the University of St. Thomas and includes flexibility for remote work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Schedule and facilitate project team meetings for grant-funded initiatives in collaboration with faculty/staff Principal Investigators (PIs) to review project timelines, track grant activities and progress towards deliverables, and monitor project budgets.
Work with University departments and MFCOH faculty and staff to create contracts/sub-awards, design grant-related marketing and communication materials, develop and administer applications for student awards, and implement other project-related tasks
Draft progress reports to funding agencies, coordinating with key internal stakeholders to incorporate required financial reports and evaluation data.
Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders to identify data needs, establish consistent data collection and data management practices, clarify project management practices, and develop procedures for internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance with grant terms.
Assist in proposal development by scheduling project team meetings, gathering relevant program data, and supporting the design of project workplans and timelines.
Coordinate with University departments and the Director of Finance and Operations to ensure all projects adhere to grant guidelines as well as University policies and practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiently in grant management practices.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Three years of comparable experience to include project management, preferably with a focus on grant management
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or project management certification
Experience working with federal and state grants
