The Front Desk Specialist provides a high level of customer service, in a professional, efficient, and timely manner to all internal and external customers.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Answer DHS Information Desk calls from staff and customers so they are assisted in a professional, efficient, and timely manner.
Schedule and supply DHS conference rooms for meetings held by external and internal staff.
Update DHS employee and reference databases consisting of frequently called departmental offices, Minnesota county agencies, directory information, and emergency numbers.
Minimum Qualifications

Customer Service skills to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone and through e-mail and other written correspondence.
Data Entry skills inputting information quickly and accurately.
Database Management skills to create and update databases.
Spreadsheet skills to create and update spreadsheets.
Typing/Keyboarding skills to accurately type information into various formats.
Word processing skills sufficient to type correspondence, reports and other written material.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Face to face experience with high volume customers & clients in person or on the phone.
Strong computer skills.
Knowledge of Department of Human Services (DHS).
Demonstrated knowledge of working with multiple technology standards.
SharePoint Knowledge.
American Sign Language (ASL) skills.
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
Physical Requirements
Physical demands require the ability to lift and move items up to 20lbs.
Ability to crawl under work surfaces to trouble shoot AV equipment.
Additional Requirements
A writing sample will be required to move to the interview process.
