Our client is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Financial Counselor to work directly with patients and assist them in navigating health insurance eligibility and accessing financial support for healthcare services. What You'll Do:
Guide patients in understanding and applying for health insurance and public assistance programs, including Medicaid and state health plans.
Verify patient eligibility and assist with gathering required income, medical, and other documentation.
Provide clear, patient-centered explanations about available financial assistance options to ensure patients receive the support they need.
Collaborate with social workers, case managers, and medical staff to streamline financial support services for patients.
Maintain accurate records, ensuring patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA policies.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Prior experience in a financial counseling or eligibility role, particularly in healthcare or social services, is preferred.
Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for patients.
Tech Savvy: Basic proficiency in computer systems and data entry.
Experience in financial counseling, eligibility determination, or case management.
Familiarity with medical and financial terminology and processes.
This is an in-person role, with patient interactions at offices and designated healthcare facilities
