The Contracts Coordinator provides technical/legal knowledge and guidance to agency management and staff on professional/technical contracts by applying legal and professional knowledge of statutes, administrative rules and procedures governing Minnesota professional/technical contracts. Manage complex contracts for MMB by providing analysis, policy direction, and assistance on complex Professional/Technical contract issues.

The position provides legal/technical knowledge and guidance to agency management and staff on other agency issues by applying professional knowledge of statutes, rules, policies, and procedures and serves as backup to the agencies Buyer.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 (two) years of professional experience in contract compliance

  • Principles and techniques of customer service sufficient to ensure that the financial needs of department programs are fully supported.

  • Knowledge of purchasing or contracts to develop and evaluate contract specifications and issue purchase orders or contracts.

  • Experience with state and federal laws, regulations, and policies related to the expenditure of funds sufficient to ensure compliance.

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, marketing, governmental purchasing, and supply procedures.

  • Experience with software applications such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, Explorer and Access, and Adobe Reader.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA or Advanced degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.

  • Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) sufficient to enter transactions and run reports.

  • Ability to handle large volumes of work while maintaining accuracy.

  • Experience executing technical and administrative legal work.

Additional Requirements

Minnesota Management and Budget will conduct reference checks to verify job-related credentials and a criminal background check prior to appointment. Professional/Technical Contract Professional certification and Professional/Technical Contract Manager certification within 6 months of start.
