Purpose
Assist the Environmental Manager in complying with Corporate Environmental Policies and with all Federal, State, Tribal, and Local environmental laws, regulations, and permit requirements. Document, monitor, and maintain all environmental compliance performance records in accordance to the Corporate Policies and applicable regulatory requirements. Other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities
Key Activities
1. Compliance
Perform periodic testing, monitoring, and inspections related to compliance activities.
Communicate required regulatory requirements affecting site operations.
Collect and record data necessary to demonstrate compliance with air and water permits.
Perform inspections of water discharges, stormwater outfalls, air emission units, and pollution control equipment.
Conduct sampling and analysis of water samples as required in discharge permits.
2. Administrative
Maintain facility environmental files.
Ensure recordkeeping requirements are met as required for permitted activities.
3. Site Environmental Resource
Respond to SPCC spills as necessary.
Participate in environmental audits as necessary.
Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with regulations.
4. Safety
Participate in the facilitys safety process as a resource and active member of the mills safety culture
5. Training
Conduct required environmental training as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications (technical/professional skills, expertise and qualifications)
Associate degree in Environmental Science, Business, Engineering or related field preferred, and/or a minimum of two (2) years experience in the environmental field or manufacturing/business environment, preferentially with regulatory agency interaction.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Internet Research. Ability to learn new software applications.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with mill personnel and environmental regulators.
Ability to provide training regarding environmental regulations, rules, manuals, and policies.
Working Conditions (e.g., heat, cold, noise, etc.)
Essential Physical Functions (e.g., lifting, bending, climbing, reading, etc.)
Office and industrial environment.
Temperature extremes, dusty, noisy, ice, and snow.
Occasional work with hazardous materials.
Occasional travel offsite trips
Walking, climbing, bending, lifting to 50 pounds.
Perform testing at elevated heights.
Effective verbal and written communication.
