If you are a Safety Professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! You will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the effective implementation of Copeland safety governance frameworks and practices. This role will ensure that all safety policies and procedures comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of safety governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance, and will lead efforts to enhance safety culture and performance through robust governance practices.

AS A SR. SAFETY MANAGER, YOU WILL:

  • Governance Framework Development:

  • Design, implement, and maintain safety governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Ensure alignment with legal, regulatory, and industry safety requirements.

  • Regularly review and update governance documents to reflect changes in regulations and best practices.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives to enhance safety governance practices and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for safety governance matters with regulatory agencies and external auditors.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety governance into operational practices and decision-making processes.

  • Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present detailed reports on safety performance, compliance, and governance to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, documentation, and incident reports.

  • Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Revise audit programs and conduct thorough safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards and compliance gaps.

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to all safety regulations and standards across the organization.

  • Develop and oversee corrective action plans to address identified safety issues and ensure timely resolution.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Or a combination of education and experience.

  • Five (5+) years’ experience

  • Knowledge of ISO 45001/ISO 14001compliance/certifications.

  • Experience in developing Safety Auditing programs.

  • Up to 50% travel

Preferred Education, Experience & Sills:

  • Behavior Based Safety Experience

  • Experience in Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention (SIFp)
