Federal Reserve System Sr. IT Risk Specialist in St. Louis, Missouri

Our Safety & Soundness unit is looking for experienced individuals with an IT audit or IT examiner background to join our team of IT Examiners and IT Risk Specialists. As a Senior IT Risk Specialist, you will evaluate the overall nature and risk of a bank’s IT environment, the adequacy of the bank’s IT related internal controls and audit function, and the bank’s compliance with laws and regulations. You would be based in either our St. Louis or Little Rock offices and report to a Supervisory Examiner.

Travel Requirement

This position requires overnight travel, or if in range, commutable travel. You may travel approximately 50 nights per year, averaging 20-30% of workdays within the Eighth Federal Reserve District. It includes overnight stays (up to five consecutive days), travel mostly by vehicle, but some air travel may be involved as well. Responsibilities

  • Partner with IT and safety and soundness examiners to plan, participate, and lead supervisory events at complex and high-risk banking organizations

  • Serve as an IT subject matter expert, perform continuous monitoring of high-risk firms, and assess the remediation of supervisory issues

  • Assess IT risk management practices related to internal and external audit, board and management oversight, information security, cybersecurity, third-party risk management, identity theft red flags, development and acquisition, business continuity / disaster recovery, electronic banking, payments, and bank operations

  • Prepare informative, well supported supervisory products and work papers and communicate supervisory conclusions to financial institution management, other examiners, and Reserve Bank management

  • Foster relationships with fellow examiners, Reserve Bank staff, financial institution management, and other federal and state banking regulators

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience

  • Experience with assessing common cybersecurity frameworks, information security practices, network architecture, business continuity / disaster recovery practices, IT risk management, and IT audit

  • 8 years of relevant experience in banking, audit, or bank supervision

  • Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information accurately and concisely to various stakeholders

  • Well-developed analytical and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Salary: $130,000– 155,000
