Job Description:

Job Summary:

Incumbent provides support for overall building safety of designated location to including team members, consumers, and ensure the well-being of the organization in providing optimal customer service. Upholding and supporting the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion by actively demonstrating appropriate cultural awareness, respect, and sensitivity while performing assigned duties and functioning within accordance to policy/procedures and within their professional code of ethics.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Interact with all team member, consumers, and visitors in a compassionate and courteous manner

  • Provide consumers, visitors, and team member with needed assistance as appropriate or deemed necessary by unit team member.

  • Support team member, consumers, and visitors by promoting a safe and supportive environment for care.

  • Respond and intervene as necessary to any situations that may arise that create a safety concern for team member, consumers, or visitors.

  • Implements crisis prevention and management techniques with all necessary parties, using authorized de-escalation techniques and strategies.

  • Completes incident reporting forms within 24 hours of any incident that occurs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Customer service-oriented and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to communicate effectively before groups of residents, clients, team members of the organization, family members and other contacts in the community

  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Shall be able to establish effective relationships via telephone and personal contacts.

  • Shall be able to follow directions and accept supervision.

  • Serve as a role model to team member, consumers, and visitors by modeling positive verbal and non-verbal behaviors at all times.

  • Ability to be proactive and preform duties and responsibilities with minimal onsite monitoring.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Crisis Management training preferred (CPI or other de-escalation program)

  • Previous Safety experience preferred

Supervisory Requirements:

  • None

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

  • All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration - This position is active. The team member will be required to stand, walk, and sit and use their hands and arms as well. The team member will also use their cognitive skills and senses including intense thought, planning, seeing, hearing, and speaking. The ability to run and walk upstairs may be required.

This position may require team member to work with potentially volatile individuals whose behavior and mind set may change rapidly with or without warning. This team member maybe required to use de-escalation techniques that require both verbal and physical intervention employing the skills of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention procedures.
