Job Title: Quality Control TechnicianJob Description
The Quality Control (QC) Technician is a key component to ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards. The QC Technician will be responsible for routine and non-routine viscosity testing, environmental testing, pre-operation checklists, equipment verification and validation, corrective actions, holding non-conforming materials, and control of raw materials. Additionally, the QC Technician will maintain the lab, follow good lab practices, and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine and non-routine viscosity testing
Perform environmental testing and pre-operation checklists
Verify and validate equipment
Implement corrective actions and hold non-conforming materials
Control raw materials
Maintain lab cleanliness and safety
Follow good lab practices
Communicate effectively between departments
Frequently stand and walk through the manufacturing environment
Essential Skills
2 years of experience as a quality assurance technician in a GMP-regulated environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic math, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently
Effective communication between departments
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with pH meter, titration, viscosity testing
Knowledge of FDA regulations
Experience in laboratory and food manufacturing environments
Quality assurance, quality control, laboratory experience
Work Environment
The position involves 60% lab-based work and 40% work on the manufacturing floor. The work schedule is 1st shift from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, with occasional 4-hour shifts on Friday and Saturday. The team is small and tight-knit, with 2-3 members on shift at a time. The role offers room for upward movement within the company, proximity to the R&D team, and the opportunity to work with new clients and products.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00
