The Doe Run Company is seeking a Help Desk Specialist to provide the first line of support for Doe Run employees (both full-time and contract) for IT issues that need immediate attention and to assure that all IT systems are running properly. This position is located at our Corporate Office in St. Louis, MO.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or other relevant comparable experience.
- 1-3 years experience with Desk Top or Help Desk support experience
- ITIL Certification Foundation, preferred
- A Certification, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
MS Office Advanced level
Beginner understanding of networking and servers and network monitoring tools
General hardware and software knowledge intermediate
Intermediate knowledge of printers, smart phones and other peripherals
Ability to multitask, handle stress, and prioritize issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Address user problems: Answer phone calls, email and request forms for IT assistance to keep hardware, software and applications running as they should. Troubleshoot and solve issues; escalate problem to appropriate person(s) when necessary. Utilize ticketing system to document actions taken,. by who and resolution. Use system to coordinate when escalation is needed. 50%
- Fulfill user provisioning requirements: Execute on boarding processes, set up new users, initiate account information. Grant security access and file permission. Execute off boarding processes, remove access as necessary. 25%
- Mobile IT Infrastructure systems: Assure system stability and reduce time to repair. Troubleshoot and escalate when necessary. 10%
- Coordinate communication: Email end users about significant IT events that will impact user community 10%
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment, Physical and Lifting Requirements:
- Work is generally performed in a standard office setting.
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, and to talk and hear; frequently required to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movement. Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
- May be required to lift up to 15 pounds.
