SALARY: $135,000-$150,000 bonus and long-term incentive eligible

ROLE SUMMARY:

The attorney will be the main legal contact for Anheuser-Busch High End brands and craft breweries. They will handle various matters and provide advice on product innovation, advertising, and marketing. The right attorney should have a deep desire to learn and grow professionally, be enthusiastic about brands and projects, and find solutions to complex problems without taking shortcuts.

This attorney primarily supports Anheuser-Busch’s highly recognized High End beer and beverage brands, including Stella Artois, Kona Brewing, Elysian Brewing, and Golden Road Brewing, and with the creation of new brands to deliver organic growth for the company.

The position is part of the Marketing, Innovation Sales and Licensing legal team at Anheuser-Busch and contributes to Anheuser-Busch's central initiative for Future Growth Leadership. Anheuser-Busch is a dynamic employer that values diversity and invites attorneys from varied backgrounds to apply.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Trusted advisor and collaborator with the Anheuser-Busch High End and Beyond Beer legal team and Innovations team on advertising, marketing, commercial agreements, trademarks, regulatory compliance, and alcohol and non-alcohol product formulation, labeling, and packaging under TTB and FDA regulations

  • Acquire new Federal and state alcohol beverage licenses as needed

  • Review and clear marketing content for compliance with federal and state regulations, industry codes, and company policies

  • Assist with litigation in labelling, formulation, and marketing matters

  • Review commercial agreements

  • Protect and enforce brand intellectual property

  • Provide practical, actionable advice on complex regulatory matters

  • Direct, evaluate, and manage the work of external counsel and other external partners

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • J.D. from accredited law school

  • Licensed to practice law and a member in good standing of a state bar

  • Administrative (TTB, FTC, FDA, FCC) law or litigation experience

  • Food or alcohol beverage industry experience

  • Alcohol trade practice experience a plus

  • 2-5 years of experience in a corporate law department or law firm, ideally with focus on food and beverage regulatory issues or advertising and marketing law

  • Ability to distill complex legal issues into practical, actionable legal advice

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate well with others

  • Motivated to learn continuously and expand practice area to meet changing business environment and needs of company

  • Consistently able to prioritize and manage a large volume of files

  • Strong project manager with strong organization skills

  • Passionate about learning new technologies, systems and processes
