Job Title: SolidWorks Drafter

Job Description

Actalent is current seeking a Mechanical Drafter that will be responsible for detailing and drafting material handling equipment using SolidWorks. This role entails maintaining direct contact with the design engineer to generate general arrangement drawings and fabrication detail drawings for all equipment manufactured. The drafter will interact with the plant supervisor to ensure clarity during fabrication, work directly with the design engineer to produce drawings from various sources, create assembly and parts details suitable for fabrication and final assembly, and handle part numbering and material lists for purchasing. The role also involves maintaining complete and accessible files and records, collaborating with Operations, Sales/Marketing, and Administration to provide design and cost control, and performing other duties as assigned while maintaining confidentiality of all processed information.

The work environment is a typical manufacturing setting where time will be split between the office for drafting tasks and the shop floor to oversee products.
