The Physical Plant Department at the College of Saint Benedict invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit-eligible positions of Director of Facilities Management. The Director of Facilities Management oversees Facilities, Grounds, Transportation, and Environmental Health and Safety. They align these departments with CSB's strategic mission, emphasizing efficiency, sustainability, and reliability. Their responsibilities include planning, scheduling, designing, and executing new construction, remodeling, renovation, and utility infrastructure upgrades. They identify and implement strategies to support CSB's physical facilities and manage building maintenance and central utility plant operations. They participate in developing the Joint Facilities Master Plan and its implementation on the CSB campus. Additionally, they plan resources for effective campus facility management and lead energy conservation, resiliency, and sustainability programs. For further information, see http://www.csbsju.edu/about. Responsibilities Facility and Operations Management Develop and implement short and long-range planning of facility-related programs. Oversee and manage construction and contracting work on the CSB campus. Oversee the administration of activities of physical plant services and support areas including custodial, grounds, renovation, maintenance, and repair improvements. Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations, and assure the continuous, safe, sustainable, and reliable operations of all facilities at CSB. Leadership and Supervision Lead and build high-quality relationships with appropriate department directors, professionals, architects/engineers, contractors, state agencies and college personnel. Lead and supervise a highly trained and motivated staff. Work cooperatively within and outside the college system to support the strategic planning goals of CSB. Represent the physical plant in development, justification and administration of personnel, operation and maintenance budget. Utility and Transportation Services Oversee utility services which includes the operations of the power plant and provision of services to the Saint Benedict s Monastery. Oversee transportation services, including fleet vehicles as well as student busing. Collaborative Planning and Coordination Coordinate and execute joint space planning with St. John s University and the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict. Working with HR and General Counsel, participate in union negotiations on behalf of the college. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
