Responsibilities
Knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic technique & maintenance and care of instruments and equipment
Cleans and/or disinfects instruments and equipment after use and returns it to the proper area, in appropriate sequence, for storage and/or processing
Demonstrates ability to understand and use sterilizers, high-level disinfectors, instrument washers and other designed processors
Demonstrates flexibility in assuming duties and responsibilities
Demonstrates a positive attitude and ability to work with the team
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent
Understanding of sterilization and high-level disinfection techniques including industry standardized principles and practice in sterilization and disinfection required
Prior experience in instrument processing preferred
Certified Registered Central Supply Technician (CRCST) certificate is required within one year for new hires
Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 6 months of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification
