Summary
Responsible for coordinating all load assignments. Provide continuous improvement in the productivity of ATS assets and to ensure that safe, efficient, and valuable transportation is provided to all ATS customers. Acts as the main communicator between the CSR and Fleet Manager.
Education and Experience
High School education plus two years post high school education and at least three years related experience in van operations.
Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work independently.
Must be a team player, amenable to a variety of work projects.
Must be analytical with the ability to apply data.
Must be proficient in responding to internal and external customer situations, responding to customer needs as required.
Must be able to both think creatively and provide creative contributions to projects.
Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.
Meets all company and department objectives and deadlines.
Follows all company and department policies and procedures.
Works within budget that is set for the department.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).
Willing and able to travel occasionally, including overnight travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates all load assignments
Assigns all trucks in area to freight which enable fleet managers to dispatch loads
Follows all loads to assure on time pick-ups
Responsible for trailing equipment between areas to assure customer has proper equipment for product on a timely basis
Monitors utilization and inventory of trailers at customers yard and terminal pools
Improves productivity of ATS assets to ensure safe, efficient and valuable transportation is provided to all ATS customers
Utilizes new or diversified business opportunities to move excess freight
Monitors and controls costs by meeting or exceeding company goals
Dollars per day per truck
Less dwell time
Percent loaded
Suggests changes and new ideas that would benefit customers and ATS
Communicates between CSR and Fleet Manager
Assists CSR in establishing proper appointments
Coordinates with CSR the balance of freight to available power units and deciding which customer is the priority
Communicates any service problems to CSR Manager and Operations Manager and finds solution to eliminate service problems in the future
Assigns all loads within critical dispatch time.
Avoids having no more than 5% of all trailers to sit idle over 30 days and no trailer to sit idle over 45 days, except for major repairs.
Keeps dollars per day per truck consistent with divisional goals and keeps percent loaded consistent with divisional goals.

Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours, and infrequent travel may be required.

Compensation & Benefits
This position has a base salary range of $45,000 to $65,000 plus a position specific incentive. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
