Overview In anticipation of an upcoming retirement, Coborn's, Inc. is searching for a Director of Operations - District II (District Manager) who will lead the Store Directors in Wisconsin and Michigan. This district encompasses 10 retail locations spread throughout a wide geographic area Significant travel to our retail locations is required. This position can be based out of our Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Michigan Support Center locations. As the Director of Operations for District II, you will report to the Senior Vice President of Operations and be responsible for: Directing and overseeing the daily operations of supermarkets ensuring the delivery of remarkable guest experience, operational excellence, and satisfactory financial performance. Continuously assess store performance and partner with store leadership to build action plans to continuously improve. Utilizing financial and operational reporting to identify profit opportunities, develop strategies, and lead initiatives to ensure each store achieves its budgeted targets and operational goals. Acting as the liaison between the stores and the support center, you will demonstrate a strong initiative to understand, support, and assist your direct reports in executing on company initiatives. Proactively identifying and collaborating with company leadership on driving market opportunities for local assortment and promotional opportunities, empowering Store Directors to make decisions that they believe will benefit their store and holding them accountable. Building team spirit and morale by actively seeking and sharing innovative ideas to improve the guest experience, engage employees and grow sales. Coaching, developing, mentoring, and training the store leadership teams to achieve sales, profit, creative merchandising, guest satisfaction and employee engagement expectations. Partnering with Store Directors and Human Resources to proactively anticipate and recognize staffing needs, hire, develop, and retain top talent across the district and organization. Develop high performing teams to create and maintain effective succession plans. Working with our Construction and Project Management teams to assist with new store builds, remodels, and improvements to our existing retail locations Frequently collaborating with all areas of the business including Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Continuous Improvement, Aviation, eCommerce, Franchise Operations, Pharmacy, Real Estate, Asset Protection, Information Technology and Operations. Requirements Education & Experience Possess a bachelor's degree in business or related fie d; or eight to ten years of retail supermarket and managerial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Has a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor staff on multiple teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous supermarket leadership experience preferred Driving Possess a current state driver's license and valid insurance with the ability to travel to business locations as needed. Ability to travel for business about 80% of the time. Based on geographic area this may involve overnight stays.
