POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President Business Development leads our organization focused on owning and managing our development of new business opportunities, strategically bidding and competing for new work, and overseeing sales and business development team. The Vice President of Sales & Business Development will, at all times, model Company values and principles and act in a manner consistent with our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities, including negotiating contracts, initiating proposals, and closing deals.

  • Plans and directs all aspects of an organization's business development policies, objectives, and initiatives.

  • Implements and maintains sales processes designed to achieve strategic sales objectives.

  • Conducts financial feasibility studies and develops proposals for new business opportunities.

  • Actively contributes towards the development of other team members in the organization and provide leadership through the sphere of influence.

  • Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships at various organizational levels, both commercial and technical.

  • Develop, oversee and execute sales goals to meet the annual sales budget.

  • Responsible for monthly updates to rolling forecast and to report variances to plan on a monthly basis.

  • Follow-up and report the status of key quotations and proposals.

  • Managing customer and competitor database such that trends are recognized and communicated. Develop the subsequent proactive strategies, or changes needed to defend position & grow market share.

  • Monitor and maintain a profitability standard at assigned accounts consistent with overall company strategy.

  • Schedule appointments, prepare and deliver presentations to the clients, having researched their business and requirements.

  • Work on sales follow-up activities.

  • Work as part of a team and closely with other departments within the organization.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree in Business, Engineering or other appropriate fields, minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a leadership role

  • Extensive knowledge and involvement in aerospace and manufacturing operations

  • Experience working with aerospace and defense OEMs and Tier One suppliers

  • Specific experience should include business development and technical sales/marketing in aerospace market

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to cold call potential clients with confidence

  • Excellent organizational skills Has experience presenting and responding to questions from leadership, groups of peers, customers, employees and vendors.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to compile and present data in a format that facilitates information sharing and decision making.
