Scholastic Front Desk Receptionist in St. Charles, Illinois

Job Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

Objective: Provide general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates.

Primary Hours: Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm

Onsite 5 days per week.

Reports to: Fulfillment / Facilities Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answers a high volume of incoming calls and directs the callers to the appropriate associates.

  • Forwards messages for various personnel.

  • Provides callers with information such as assigned ISR for the territory and product, company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, email, company website and other related information

  • Greet persons entering organization

  • Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness

  • Manage queries from the public and customers

  • Monitor logbook, issue visitor badges

  • Additional Administrative / Mailroom tasks as needed

  • Overtime may be required

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures

  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office some Excel would be helpful but not required

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to Work Independently

  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs for Mailroom Duties
