UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies Programmer Analyst in Springfield, Virginia

Overview

Bowhead seeks a Programmer Analyst to join an experienced Business Systems Team in the Accounting and Finance department. This individual will work closely with operations and Bowhead management team to continuously improve upon our enterprise reporting and processes automation. The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for creation and upkeep of our Business Intelligence reporting and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• This position requires expertise in a variety of analytical and database warehousing and reporting software, including Microsoft Excel, software expertise in SQL report writing, Cognos, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI, and similar business reporting tools software.

• Maintain existing reports and dashboards in Cognos, Qlik Suite, Microsoft Power BI and legacy tools. Ensure data integrity between reports and systems.

• Work with business analysts, various departments, and end users from cross functional teams to capture reporting requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications and architecture patterns for enterprise business intelligence implementation, developing reports and dashboards, and potential processes automation.

• Provide training and support to Business Intelligence users and stakeholders.

• Serve as systems administrator for Business Intelligence and other integrated systems.

• Stay up to date with the latest ERP, Cognos, Qlik, and Microsoft Power BI releases, features, and industry best practices.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or similar)

• Master's Degree or MBA (preferred, not required)

• Business experience is a plus.

• Microsoft Power BI certification is a plus.

• In depth knowledge creating business intelligence reports and dashboards.

• Strong technical and functional experience with financial/forecasting systems and business intelligence tools. Basic understanding of finance/accounting principles.

• Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, including pivot tables and Power Query.

• Intermediate proficiency with SQL (query writing, database creation/management, and basic stored procedures/functions.)

• Beginner proficiency with SQL Server ETL (Extract, Transform, Load.)

• Beginner proficiency with Power BI and/or Qlik Suite.

• Experience with a programming language such as C++, Python, Java, or Net.

• Developer must be able to communicate equally with business intelligence users, owners, and IT professionals. Excellent blend of analytical, technical, and communication skills in a team-based environment are essential for this role.

• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work with a team, and great attention to detail and accuracy.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
