Job Title: Field Support Technician - Manufacturing Systems Administrator

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Support Technician to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on systems administration and technical troubleshooting & support in warehouse operations, such as Zebra and Honeywell scanners, along with the applications that run on them I.E. ERP Systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, enjoy working hands-on with users in a warehouse setting, and take ownership of the systems they manage.

The Field Support Technician will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing handheld systems software and hardware, ensuring equipment is up to date, and supporting end users with applications used in daily operations. This role requires someone who is comfortable interacting with users, learning different applications, and proactively identifying areas for improvement. With potential growth opportunities, including international support in locations such as the Dominican Republic, this position is ideal for someone looking to expand their career over time.

Responsibilities:

System Administration and Maintenance:

  • Manage handheld device systems (Zebra & Honeywell scanners).

  • Keep operating systems (OS) updated and track the release of new versions.

  • Ensure reliability and stability of the devices in the field.

User and Application Support:

  • Learn and understand the functionality of the primary application and supporting mobile solutions.

  • Provide user support within the warehouse environment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

  • Act as the interface between technical needs and user feedback to suggest enhancements or new features.

  • Help users troubleshoot issues, improving workflows and system usability.

Proactive Ownership:

  • Take full ownership of the systems and related infrastructure.

  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency.

  • Provide strategic suggestions for software and hardware enhancements.

Future Growth Opportunities:

  • Potential to support multi-country operations, starting with the Dominican Republic.

  • Opportunity to expand into assisting with global system infrastructure.

Collaboration & Miscellaneous:

  • Coordinate with teams using supporting platforms, primarily Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power BI, etc.).

  • Oversee additional mobile applications developed with React Native and Node.js (coding skills a plus but not required).

Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

  • Familiarity with handheld mobile devices such as Zebra and Honeywell scanners.

  • Basic understanding of mobile operating systems and software lifecycle management.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Power Platform is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with React Native and Node.js is a plus but not essential.

Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions in a time-sensitive environment.

  • Capable of learning new technologies and applications quickly to provide strong user support.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Skilled in interacting with diverse warehouse personnel to understand and address their technological needs.

  • Willingness to communicate user requests for feature enhancements or system upgrades.

Flexibility in Mobility:

  • Physically present in warehouse environments for up to 70% of the time (or 95% during high-volume seasons).

  • Ability to travel within Springfield and occasionally internationally for growth initiatives.

Proactive Mindset:

  • A self-starter with the drive to take ownership of handheld systems and continually improve their operation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in Cisco & Citrix Technologies.

  • Experience with Dell Technologies.

  • Expertise in Active Directory.

  • Experience with Backup Technologies.

  • Prior experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power, Microsoft Power Apps, and Microsoft Power Automate.
