QPS Employment Group QC Lab Manager in Springfield, Missouri
Hours: 8-hour shifts between 6am-6:30pm Monday-Friday
QPS Employment Group is hiring a QC Lab Manager for a company in Marshfield, MO. This is an associate to hire opportunity.
QC Lab Manager Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Working under general supervision, monitor and adjust the production process to ensure customer product specifications and company quality standards are met - Food safety SOPs and regulations; ensure that laboratory operates to provide safe, legal, quality, authentic food products in keeping with FSMA, Food Safety Plan, and GFSI standards - Ensure that the laboratory is prepared for third party and customer audits - Assist with customer requested documentation - Work in cooperation with sales and quality team to ensure that customer complaints are responded to in a timely manner - Work in cooperation with sales and quality team to ensure that customer returns are fully investigated - Coordinate laboratory meetings - Ensure that microbiological results are received for all products requiring microbiological testing - Environmental program testing in cooperation with Quality manager - Assist RandD in conducting shelf-life studies for new products and perform the laboratory testing validation - HACCP team member - Enter micro testing results for products requiring micro testing prior to release in BatchMaster - Enter QC data into SAP and scan QCPI and Process Orders to drive - Ensure that COAs for outbound shipments are accurate and signed - Maintain finished product specification binder in cooperation with the laboratory personnel - Include documentation for decisions about microbiological testing - Approve new formulas with input from planning/production teams - Ensure all relevant SOPs for testing are accurate and available - Maintain QCPI in cooperation with Quality team and ensure access to company team - Liaison for powder productions, issues and equipment needs - Liaison with Product Manager and RandD to ensure laboratory is prepared for all customer needs and laboratory functions in relation to new product development - All other duties as requested
QC Lab Manager Requirements: - Bachelors Degree in a scientific field or at least 6 months experience in a laboratory environment - Ability to read, write, and speak English - Ability to read and comprehend documents such as standard operating procedures, equipment manuals, and blend formulas - Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from colleagues, other departments, and occasionally auditors - Ability to interpret testing results and follow SOP document for appropriate action - Ability to operate a variety of lab equipment and instruments and a variety of office equipment - Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO compliance requirements - Skilled in Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel, as well as database programs - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rate, ratio, percents, and volume using metric equivalents
