Position Title Residence Life - Summer Student Facilities Assistant - Office Assistant

Student Status Work Study Optional –You are not required to be a Federal Work Study Recipient to hold this position.

Work Location Springfield Campus

Department Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services

Hiring Range $12.30/hour

Department/Employer Operating Hours Monday-Friday - 8:00am-4:30pm

How many hours per week are required? 20-40/week

Description of Primary Duties

Office Assistant

  • Answer office phones, transfer calls, and take messages

  • Check in and out keys to staff and vendors

  • Escort vendors through residence halls for work orders

  • Other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

  • Good Communication, public relations, and customer service skills

  • Must be detail-oriented, punctual, dependable, and able to work independently

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English sufficiently enough to understand verbal and written instruction

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, push, pull, bend, stoop, stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders/stairs

  • Ability to work as a team

  • Prioritize time and tasks to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
