Essential Functions
- Serves as an armed agent with full police powers; plans, assigns, supervises, and reviews, the casino and investigation operations;Develops and implementsoperating policies and procedures as needed;Ensuresthe Illinois Gambling Act, Video Gaming Act, Sports Wagering Act, Administrative Rules, and internal controls adopted by the Board are properly enforced and adhered to by licensees;Oversees investigations and develops plans;Maintains day-to-day familiarity with cases to ensure all necessary steps have been taken;Provides technical assistance and advice to supervisory subordinates in resolvingissues;Takes regulatory and/or police action when deemed appropriate.
- Serves as full line supervisor responsible for various supervisory tasks.
- Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating a variety of reports, memoranda, and correspondence.
- Travels to ensure compliance with Gaming Act Required.
- Assists Deputy Administrator of Field Operations with coordination of highly confidential or sensitive investigations of major incidents with Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies; testifies as an expert witness in criminal and administrative proceedings.
- Participates in various trainings, includingFirearms, Professional, and Fitness.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college, preferably with coursework in law enforcement, criminal justice, pre-law, business administration, or a related field.
- Requires current certification as a sworn peace officer.
- Requires five(5) years progressively responsible professional experience as a Gaming Senior Special Agent in Enforcement or Investigations with the Illinois Gaming Board.
- Requires an additional three (3) years of sworn officer supervisory experience in a law enforcement unit.
Conditions of Employment
- Graduated from an approved State Police academy program.
- Currently certified as a sworn peace officer.
- Possess sufficient physical fitness to have passed the Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test.
- Passed an approved firearms qualification course and have a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card.
- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
- Requires appropriate, valid drivers license.
- Pass Illinois Gaming Boards background investigation (background check).
- Must comply with theState Officials and Employees Ethics Act: No State employee who works for the Illinois Gaming Board, or spouse or immediate family member living with such person shall, during State employment, hold an ownership interest in, other than a passive interest in, a publicly traded company, in any gaming license under the Illinois Gambling Act, the Video Gaming Act, the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975, or the Sports Wagering Act.
- Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: No person shall be employed to serve the Board who is, or whose spouse, parent or child is, an official of, or has a financial interest in or financi al relation with, any operator engaged in gambling operations within this State, or any organization engaged in conducting horse racing within this State.
- Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: For the one year immediately preceding employment, an employee shall not have been employed or received compensation or fees for services from a person or entity, or its parent or affiliate, that has engaged in business with the Board, a licensee, or a licensee under the Illinois Horse Racing Actof 1975.
