SUMMARY:

Responsibilities will be split between supporting laboratory purchasing and receiving activities and working with the Chemistry Department. Duties will vary from performing chemistry procedures, receiving and login of samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), performing quality system procedures and following work instructions in a Food Safety Laboratory. Additional activities will include checking in and delivering of supplies, maintaining assigned inventories, collecting/processing Chemistry supply orders, and learning to use SAP for requisitions and goods receipts. Precision and accuracy in performance of the work and data collection is essential; must be able to maintain ISO records for process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements. Initial proficiency testing must be passing and competency will be verified at least annually thereafter. Team member will be required to demonstrate proficiency and growth after training; other duties as assigned.

REQUIRMENTS:

• Education: A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Prefer college level courses or degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, and or Physical Sciences or similar.
• Experience: Prefer laboratory experience.
• Computer Skills: General knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and comfortable with digital recordkeeping.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills. Capable of working in a team environment to accomplish work and backing up other team members.
• Physical Requirements: Stand and or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break. Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
