Community Health Systems FT Med Assistant-Elm Springs Clinic in Springdale, Arkansas
The primary role for this medical assistant will be doing prior authorizations for patients on medications and imaging studies ordered by NW providers in Washington Co. May also include other routine MA duties such as assisting the physician in providing direct patient care and health education. Delivers quality care by offering excellent customer service by participating in a team centered approach towards patient care.

Transitional Care Management (TCM) Calls
Verify patient information, including insurance
Preparing patient charts for visit
Conducting intake on patients: chief complaint, review of symptoms, vital signs (i.e. pulse rate, temp., bp., wt., and ht.)
Assisting in examination and treatment plans under the direction of a physician
Completing patient health history in the electronic medical record
Sending referrals as directed by provider; following up with patient
Demonstrating knowledge of anatomy and proficient in medical terminology
Collecting samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
Give injections and vaccinations as ordered by provider; document information in EMR
Call lab results to patients, return phone calls, follow up on patient cases in EMR
Provide clerical and patient related support: i.e. scheduling appointments, obtain required paperwork and signatures as needed, etc.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum One (1) year experience in direct patient care. Prefer experience in phlebotomy and laboratory testing/specimen preparation. Excellent PC skills. Currently be certified as Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Personnel or other governing body, BLS / CPR certification. Possess exceptional communication skills, critical thinking skills, and independent decision making skills.
