Job Title: Pump Mechanic

Job Description

We have an immediate opening for a Pump Mechanic at our pump repair and service shop located in North Houston. In this role, you will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning and inspecting (DCI) various pumps such as horizontal multi-stage pumps, single-stage pumps, overhung pumps and vertical turbine pumps. You will diagnose faults and document 'as found'/'as built' conditions with pictures, dimensional data, and dispositioning of all. This role also involves the use of micrometers, bore gauges, veneer calipers, and dial indicators. Additionally, you will be tasked with performing shaft alignments with laser alignment systems and balancing impellers. This position requires an individual who can work with minimal supervision and does not require instructions for routine work.

Hard Skills

• 3+ years pump mechanic experience (API pumps, horizontal multistage pumps, overhung pumps, 'between bearing' pumps, single-stage pumps, vertical turbine pumps)

• Experience performing DCI's (Disassemble, clean, & inspect to create/develop a repair work-scope with pictures, dimensional data and dispositioning of all on all assigned jobs

• Experience using measuring tools (e.g. micrometers, bore gauges, veneer calipers, dial indicators, and performing shaft alignment using Laser alignment systems)

• Experience balancing impellers

• Threading experience on Manual lathe

Soft Skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• Ability to document and communicate work processes effectively

• Attention to detail

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Spring, Texas.
