TEKsystems Cloud Security Engineer in Spring, Texas

Description

Responsible for ensuring information security best practices relating to issues in the Azure/Oracle Cloud such as: design and deployment of security configurations and tools into various SaaS/IaaS and other cloud solutions, monitoring of IT systems for indicators of compromise, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of security infrastructure software and hardware, development, implementation, and management of safeguards to protect information and systems hosted in the cloud, monitoring, reporting and management of systems security vulnerabilities, and investigation of and response to alleged violations of company security policies.

Job Duties/Roles

Design, implement, maintain, and operate technical information system security controls and countermeasures in Azure/Oracle Cloud to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems.

Coordinate the deployment, integration and initial configuration of new security solutions and any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures and the enterprise's security policies. Troubleshoot issues or conflicts in existing security solutions.

Evaluate adequacy of security controls of network and systems against possible security threats, identify conformances or weaknesses, and recommend, plan and coordinate implementation of security improvements.

Analyze logs and reports of IT security related activities, incidents and customer contacts and complaints to identify security vulnerabilities and threats. Research, design, develop and assist in the implementation of actions to remediate security vulnerabilities and neutralize or counter security threats relating to the cloud.

Participate in the assessment of security impacts of proposed changes in the performance of processes, products, and services.

Participate in security incident response activities.

Prepare and deliver presentations to management teams and user groups.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proven project management responsibility for successful small-scale IT projects. 

Compliant with Federal International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements. 

Experience with cybersecurity industry Best Practices, standards, and IT security frameworks

Experience in security vulnerability managements, incident detection and incident response.

Prior experience required in the Information Technology field of IT Security and/or IT Auditing. 

Knowledge of security controls such as NIST SP 800-53 and ISO/IEC 27002.

Strong people skills to achieve process changes and departmental goals within a matrix organization; ability to communicate and work well with others at all levels of the corporation. 

Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP and other network administration protocols. 

Working knowledge of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.

Working knowledge of the client Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System (applicable to internal candidates).

Required/Preferred Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in a field related to cybersecurity, information technology or computer science, or equivalent referenceable experience.

Required/Preferred Professional Requirements

Microsoft Azure cybersecurity related certification required (e.g., Azure Security Engineer, Azure Security Technologies, Cybersecurity Architect, Azure Administrator, Solutions Architect). AZ-500, AZ-900.

Cybersecurity certification strongly preferred (e.g., SANS-GIAC, ISC2, ISACA).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00
