SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Reporting to the Production Manager the Production Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to, supervising and coaching employees to achieve goals and maintain established standards of safety, customer service, quality standards, productivity and good housekeeping within Spring Hill Seating Systems.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and practices at SHSS. Ensures employees know how to perform each job assigned to them in an efficient manner and that they are fully aware of the correct and safe way to operate their equipment. Ensures employees are instructed on the use and comply with Company standards on the use of personal protective equipment. Responsible for recognizing and rectifying unsafe working conditions, maintains excellent housekeeping in the department by performing regular inspections of their department(s). Ensures that a proper investigation of any accident is completed and reported in a timely manner. Comply with all Company safety policies, procedures and rules.
Ensure that all production departmental objectives and activities are aligned to the Magna Employee Charter and Magna Corporate Constitution. Ensure enforcement of SHSS Plant Policies and Procedures.
Responsible for leading and motivating employees, challenges the status quo, implements creative and innovative solutions. Provides direction to employees in facility related matters. Responsible for scheduling and assigning of daily duties of all employees. Reviews completed work for conformance to standards.
Deliver on commitments made, treat people at all levels fairly and with respect. Responds to employees concerns in a timely manner (general issues, safety concerns, etc.).
Responsible for providing clear and specific performance feedback. Develop others and improve employees' performance through coaching, training and development activities.
Responsible for communicating and training of employees to ensure compliance to Technical System Procedures and Instructions within the facility.
Oversee production schedules and ensure daily manufacturing schedules are attained to satisfy customer expectations.
Determine overtime requirements and develop plans to continuously reduce and eliminate the need to schedule overtime to achieve goals.
Provides clear and specific performance feedback and appraises the effectiveness of employees on their annual developmental review.
Provides timely and complete paperwork as required.
Perform special projects in support of the organizations business objectives.
Responsible for maintaining Quality Procedures and Instructions within the department.

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed.
Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.
Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues.
Taking appropriate corrective action when substandard performance is observed.
