Kaiser Permanente Pharmacist in Spokane, Washington

THIS TEMPORARY PHARMACIST POSITION IS TO BACKFILL SHIFTS THAT ARE UNFILLED FOR THE 4 PHARMACY LOCATIONS IN THE SPOKANE MARKET.

Job Summary:

Pharmacists at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington ensure that patients receive safe and effective, optimal medication therapy while providing expertise and information to empower patients and prescribers to make informed choices in medication therapy. Pharmacists ensure that pharmacy care is coordinated with the patient care plan.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Takes new prescriptions. Final check of all prescription processing. Patient counseling for all new prescriptions and refill medications with clinical interventions. Processes patient transfers in or out of KFHPW formulary system. Takes routine phone calls.

  • Consults with Physicians and Help Desk on therapeutic substitutions, dosing recommendations, indications for use, adverse reaction monitoring, allergy sensitivities, non-compliance, and formulary issues.

  • May complete MUM initiative and special pharmacy projects.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a pharmacy practice environment using current technology.

    Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D

    License, Certification, Registration

  • Pharmacist License (Washington) required at hire

    Additional Requirements:

  • Communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Computer skills required for prescription order entry and patient profile review.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer additional experience in interacting with an interdisciplinary team including physicians.
