Robert Half is seeking a skilled Contract Payroll Specialist for our local clients ongoing needs in the area. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail who can ensure our payroll process runs smoothly and accurately.

The Contract Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations, and addressing payroll inquiries. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll on a regular schedule, ensuring accuracy in employee pay, deductions, and benefits

• Verify and reconcile payroll data, including timesheets, leave balances, and expense reimbursements

• Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions and assist in preparing payroll reports

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax requirements, and company policies

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and other pay-related matters in a timely and professional manner

• Assist with month-end and year-end payroll activities, including preparing tax forms (e.g., W-2, 1099)

• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to maintain accurate employee data

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

• 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing or related roles

• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
