Providence St. Joseph Health Lead Security Officer in Spokane, Washington

Description The Lead Security Officer receives general direction from the Security Manager or Supervisor. Performs a variety of advanced performance level technical security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces and provides direction to other security officers to enforce Providence Health Care, facility and security policies and regulations. Provides support to the department in the areas of scheduling, accountability, security and safety. Responds to changes in emergent staffing needs. Investigates or provides direction to others in investigating reports of potential criminal conduct against PHC staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high risk areas. In the absence of a supervisor, acts as the security department liaison for other departments within Providence, law enforcement agencies, and other outside agencies that interact with security. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization in emergent situations in the local service area. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information. 3 years Security, Law Enforcement, Military, Corrections, or related healthcare experience, or related coursework deemed relevant to the position. Preferred qualifications: Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, History, or English. 1 year Experience working in the department (may be concurrent with above requirement). 3 years Experience in a healthcare security. 2 years Supervisory/Leadership Experience Why Join Providence?
