Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Accounts Receivable Representative for a remote contract position with a leading healthcare company. The ideal candidate will have intermediate or advanced healthcare billing skills, a strong understanding of AR processes, and experience working with both insurance carriers and patients. This position offers the opportunity for immediate employment, with the potential for contract-to-hire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Timely and Accurate Billing & Collections: Responsible for the accurate and prompt billing of services and collection of payments from insurance carriers and patients.

• Patient Account Management: Maintain patient accounts by posting charges, cash receipts, and adjustments in a timely manner.

• Patient Communication: Contact patients with unpaid medical bills, addressing inquiries and negotiating payment plans or settlements where necessary.

• Insurance Dispute Resolution: Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve billing disputes and facilitate timely payments.

• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all patient interactions, payments received, and adjustments made to accounts.

• Accounts Receivable Monitoring: Continuously monitor outstanding accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid bills to ensure payments are processed.

  Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and/or accounts receivable within a healthcare setting.

• Strong understanding of insurance billing processes, including working with both commercial and government payers.

• Proficiency in medical billing software and AR systems.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience contacting patients and insurance companies for collections and dispute resolution.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records of all transactions and interactions.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.

• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Medical Billing (e.g., CPC, CCA, or equivalent)

• Experience with specific healthcare billing systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar).
