Incyte Diagnostics Histotechnologist I (Per diem), Spokane Valley, WA in Spokane Valley, Washington
Histology Technologist (On call basis) is proficient in performing all routine procedures for orienting, sectioning, and staining of tissue specimens to produce slides that assist pathologists in diagnosis: They may also receive additional training from experienced Histotechs in other aspects of histology. $23.12 - $32.37 USD Hourly Schedule: working on an as-needed basis, without a set schedule or guaranteed hours You Will: Embed, cut, and stain tissue blocks according to designated procedures Maintain productivity standards: Microtomy 20 blocks/hour & Embedding 50 blocks/hour Prepare reagents and stains according to designated procedures Submit derms and one-steppers: provide backup for Grossing Tech, when needed Stay current with College of American Pathologists (CAP) standards and regulatory requirements Assist in maintaining equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed Perform or assist with validation studies Assist in operational oversight Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications: Education / Certification * Associate's degree in science and eligible for HT ASCP certification OR * Bachelor's degree in science(eligible for HTL ASCP certification) * HT or HTL ASCP Certification preferred Skills and Abilities * Histopathology laboratory experience preferred * Previous laboratory experience & knowledge in medical terminology * Possess organizational skills and attention to detail & time management skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Proficient computer skills * Ability to prioritize tasks & ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Incyte Diagnostics is an EOE, including disability/veterans We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package* which includes medical, dental, and vision benefits, life and disability benefits, a retirement plan, paid holidays, PTO/vacation benefits, and floating holidays.
