Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. Associate Software Engineer in Spokane Valley, Washington
As an Associate Software Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
- Participate in the design, implementation, and test of firmware/software testing systems.
- Understand hardware and software interactions, and collaborate with Firmware and Power Engineers.
- Prepare and maintain designs and test documentation.
- Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians.
This job might be for you if you have:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Typically 2+ years experience in one or more of the following areas: Object oriented design, Object oriented languages (C++, C#, Delphi, Java), Python or other scripting languages.
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of OO design and architectural patterns.
- Knowledge of Agile development principles and processes.
- Knowledge of relational database principles and concepts.
- Experience with revision control systems (Git, Mercurial.)
- Experience with automated unit testing (MSTest, NUnit, JUnit.)
- Experience with functional testing principles and methodologies.
- Knowledge of SEL products and their applications.
- Modern communications protocols.
- Digital and analog circuitry.
- Digital communications and signal processing.
- Project management.

Pay Range:
$78,000 - $108,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with differing experience. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. The salary range may differ in other locations based on cost of labor. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
