Spearfish City - NCRC Fire Inspector in Spearfish, South Dakota
Under supervision, responds to all types of fires, hazardous materials releases, rescue, and other calls in the protection of life, property and environment; operates and maintains vehicles, apparatus, equipment and stations. Performs a variety of fire prevention activities including conducting inspections of buildings and facilities for compliance with fire and safety codes and regulations; plan review, establishes and coordinates fire prevention and education programs; and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Possession of or ability to obtain Firefighter 1 from the State of South Dakota or equivalent. The combination of education and experience work in fire operations required to perform essential duties of the job will be considered.
Possession of or ability to obtain NFPA Fire Inspector 1 or equivalent preferred. Ability to obtain Fire Inspector 2 and Fire Plans Examiner within 12 months.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver license issued by the State of South Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
