Insight Global Shift Technician in Spartanburg, South Carolina

Job Description

As a shift technician, its essential to keep documents for machines and electrical prints up to date to ensure accuracy and efficiency in maintenance and troubleshooting. Good communication and interpersonal skills with all plant levels, from new hires to plant leaders, are crucial. The ability to troubleshoot PLC I/O to solve problems and make repairs is vital, as is proactive work on common breakdowns without being directed. Actively seeking to improve your knowledge base through learning new equipment and independent study on uncommon breakdown topics is important. Additionally, being able to complete burner cleans without damaging the ribbon, and being skilled with hand tools and power tools such as mag drills, drill presses, band saws, and others, including the use of an amp clamp and digital meter, are essential skills.

Skills and Requirements

  • Diagnose problems - repair or replace parts and test repair

  • Understand plant systems: Air Compressors, Chillers, Fire Protection, Lab HVAC, etc

  • Trouble shoot pneumatic sytems including replacing tubing, fittings, regulators, etc.

  • Know shutdown and restart procedures for plant power outage

  • Know how to shut down plant systems during off shift emergency - i.e broken sprinkler head, flush valve comes off, etc.

  • Install pipe, valves for working air or water line (no leaks)

  • Skilled with hand tools and power tools including mag drill, drill press, band saw and others. - Wire and calibrate a 4 - 20 ma loop

  • Wire tracing for shorts

  • Calibrate positioners and valves

  • Change out a single loop controller

  • Install conduit, wire, breakers, overloads for a working electrical circuit from a drawing

  • Download / Reinstall PLC program from spare copy null
