Location Description The Post Consumer Brands plant in Sparks, Nevada celebrated 30 years of cereal manufacturing in 2021. Home to about 180 team members, the plant is part of our West Coast network and supplies a variety of private label cereal to our retail customers. Just outside of Reno, Nevada, Sparks has no shortage of fun and engaging activities, including rodeos, festivals, and outdoor recreation. The Sparks team also supports the local Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Responsibilities Job: Packaging Machine Operator Shift: Graveyard, 12 hour shifts, 6:15pm - 6:30am Wage: $23.50/hr starting wage plus shift differential ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Able to learn and apply information to meet production standards: 50% Able to perform repetitive work to meet production standards: 15% Ability to visually check or inspect products to verify standards: 15% Read, comprehend and follow applicable documentation: 10% OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to copy numbers, codes or other information and fill out forms by hand. The Group Member must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Follow all GMP’s, Safety training/PPE and company policy’s. Ability to copy numbers, codes or other information and fill out forms by hand. Keep a clean work space, corrugate box break down for recycle, work area cleaned and all GMP followed. Cleaning floors to include shoveling fines, sweeping and mopping as directed Pushing buggies of byproduct and dump into compactors Other duties as assigned Plant Information: Post Consumer Brands is cereal manufacturing plant, we work around a variety of ingredients. One of the primary ingredients in cereal is a form of grain. Due to the nature of work at Post Consumer Brands, you should be aware of the potential of grain dust. Another important factor to know in working at the plant is the exposure of ingredients classified as allergens. You will be working specifically with wheat, dairy and almonds. Other duties as assigned. WORKING RELATIONSHIP: With limited supervision, take the responsibility to follow the assigned Team Leader in accomplishing the daily production requirements. Effectively work with other Group Members to accomplish team goals. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS include: Sitting Standing Walking Bending / Stooping Climbing (ascending & descending) Crawling Reaching (above shoulder) Crouching / Squatting Kneeling Balancing Twisting Pushing / Pulling / Lifting / Carrying up to and over 100 lbs Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: No prior experience is required. One year experience as an operator in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred as well as forklift or warehouse experience.
