Position Summary

The Equipment Operator II is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment, ensuring optimal performance by interpreting machine faults and responding to line clearance needs. This role also involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting minor machine issues, and supporting production operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform equipment start-up from a power-off/cold state, completing necessary paperwork such as traceability forms and start-up checklists.
Conduct Level I preventive maintenance tasks as required.
Participate in changeovers, including line clearance, system transactions, and associated documentation.
Set up work orders in electronic batch records, data acquisition systems, and inventory management systems.
Pull test samples for QC in-process inspection, and remove completed production from machines to place in finished goods totes.
Fill component hoppers/bowls to maintain continuous production.
Troubleshoot minor machine performance issues and escalate to the assigned Technician as needed for resolution.
Perform line clearance activities and return equipment to proper operational status.
Update hourly production boards with production and efficiency numbers, documenting any issues preventing goal attainment (e.g., downtime, waste, quality concerns).
Submit machine repair tags for issues requiring support services.
Ensure that products not meeting quality specifications are processed according to non-conformance procedures.
Maintain 5S standards in assigned work areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
Model company values and support strategic initiatives to drive business goals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company procedures, including safety and environmental standards.
Promote and actively engage in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.
Work Environment
The position involves working with manufacturing equipment or being in close proximity to machinery, with potential exposure to biohazards and/or chemicals.
Work environments may range from clean rooms (with proper gowning requirements) to production areas that can be noisy, open, and have moving equipment.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, and performing bilateral motions involving hands, wrists, and upper body.
Requires concentrated visual attention for product and component inspections.
Travel is minimal, typically less than 5%.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
Ability to use computers and associated software effectively.
Sound judgment for troubleshooting machine performance issues and determining product disposition.
Good interpersonal skills to facilitate communication across various levels and departments.
Ability to accurately follow both verbal and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED required.
1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred; or a Technical Certificate with relevant experience.
Pay Details: $22.00 to $23.50 per hour
