Belle Tire Staff Accountant in Southfield, Michigan
JOB SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant position requires excellent focus, high-energy and enthusiasm. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management. Duties and Responsibilities: * Acts as a key point person with Store Operations for inventory support * Analyzes monthly inventory levels/shrinkage * Maintain fixed assets records * Month-end close responsibilities * Performs monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations * Supports operation's P&L and budgeting inquiries * Participates in annual operating plan process (budgeting/forecasting) * Oversees Property tax Including -- gathering data for annual returns, remittance and recording the tax liability accrual * Assists in preparing monthly and quarterly Board of Directors reporting * Seeks out and utilizes currently available technologies to improve process efficiencies * Ad-hoc projects which will arise as the needs of the business/department changes Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; * 2 years of Accounting experience; * Strong Computer Skills- Proficient in Excel and Power Point; * Strong time management skills; * Ability to support Store Operations associates and function as a team player. Preferred Qualifications: * Excellent planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work * Experience working with SAP * Experience working in a retail-based company Working Conditions: Work hours are typically 8-5, Mon-Fri, some additional time may be required on evening and weekends.
