Description:

St. Joseph of the Pines is currently seeking a full-time Dining Room Captain. Reporting to the Dining Room Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to assist in managing the dining room in an effective and professional manner.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Work with the facility’s dietary manager and dietitian as necessary and implement recommendations.
Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed according to facility policies.
Assist in serving meals, bussing, or bartending as necessary and on a timely basis.
Assure that food is being served according to established portion and control procedures.
Work in various line functions if necessary.
Assist cook in preparing meals if necessary.
Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
Obtain and organize food supplies for next meal.
Assist in checking diet trays before distribution.
Assist in organizing and setting up special events being held in the dining room.
Assure that residents continuously have pleasant, comfortable and clean dining experiences.
Receive and solve any food or atmosphere complaints from residents when Dining Room Manager or Assistant is not available. Take necessary steps to prevent the same complaints again.
Education and experience:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Must have at least one year of food service experience. Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
