Job Title: Senior Accountant, R& D Biopharma

Job Description:

We are searching for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our Research and Development Biopharma team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties that include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, analyze and report monthly financial results and make recommendations.

  • Maintain and enhance the financial accounting system, and review financial reports for accuracy.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and regional policies, legal requirements and GAAP.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of R& D expenses.

  • Prepare annual budget and periodically update forecasts.

  • Assist with external audit process.

  • Support R& D management team in making financial decisions.

  • Develop improvements to budgeting and forecasting processes.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA or MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • Knowledge of R& D cost accounting and management.

  • Familiarity with GAAP and other regulatory procedures and standards.

  • Experience with financial systems integration and management.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and execution skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamically changing environment.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

The successful candidate will have a strong desire to build relationships within the company and have a sense of ownership and accountability. They should demonstrate high integrity, be detail-oriented, organized and be able to set priorities to meet deadlines. This role reports to the Finance Director and will interact frequently with various R& D and corporate departments.
