Generac Power Systems Engineering Technician II in South Portland, Maine

Generac’s Clean Energy Technology Team is seeking to hire an Engineering Technician II. In this you will be responsible for performing electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests of current and new product designs under the guidance and oversight of more senior technicians and engineers with the opportunity to learn more advanced techniques and processes.

Position is onsite in our S. Portland office.

Responsibilities:

Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures

Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for stated criteria with a focus on electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO 17025 and Laboratory Scope of Operations

Debug PCB issues with guidance from process documentation and other team members

Accurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurements

Assists in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications

Maintain test-related documentation in, and support administration of, database environment

Prepare formal and informal test report

Assist with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs

Conducts continuous improvement activities to reduce the potential for product defects. Involved with problem identification, containment activities, action plan development and execution.

Ensure that the test requirements for product testing and processes are defined and met.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma

2 + Years of relevant work experience

Familiar with high voltage power electronics laboratory environment (400V DC 240V AC) and related safety standards

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
